About the Authors:
Dr Vinod K. Sharma MD, FAMS, FRCP London, FIMSA, FIAD is actively involved in the care of patients with sexually transmitted infections and HIV/AIDS for more than 35 years. He is the Professor and Head of Department of Dermatology and Venereology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi since 2001. He has served as the President of Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL), Indian Association for Study of Sexually Transmitted Diseases & AIDS (IASSTD & AIDS), and XIth International Congress of Dermatology, and Vice President of International Society of Dermatology. His contribution to Dermatology and Venereology has been recognized by the Indian Council of Medical Research, National Academy of Medical Sciences, and International League of Dermatological Societies with awards and orations. He is on the Board of Directors, American Academy of Dermatology and is an Executive Committee member, International Society of Dermatology. Dr Sharma is a renowned teacher and researcher. He has published more than 340 research papers in international and national journals. He has served as Associate Editor of British Journal of Dermatology and is an editorial board member of journals such as Contact Dermatitis, Dermatitis, and International Journal of Dermatology. He is the Chief Editor of first and second editions of textbook of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and HIV/AIDS published by IASSTD & AIDS. He has also published books on urticaria and psoriasis, and prepared guidelines for the management of SJS/TEN, vitiligo, and psoriasis for IADVL.
Dr Vishal Gupta MD, a postgraduate in Dermato-venereology from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi with 4 years post-MD experience, is currently working as a Senior Research Associate (Pool Officer). He received the Dr KC Kandhari Award for the best postgraduate student. He also won the Torrent Young Scholar Award 2013 and IADVL-GSK National Quiz for Postgraduates at DERMACON 2014. He has received several travel awards and scholarships to present his research at national and international conferences. He is also the Assistant Editor of the Indian Journal of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology, and has more than 50 publications in national and international journals to his credit.
