Description:
This book is a compilation of various papers on the politics of identity, the question of gender, the problems of the LGBTQIA+ community and the politics of development. Do politics of identity and gender and the question of LGBTQIA+ hinder inclusive development and fracture the notion of development? Or do they become the harbingers of inclusive development in a new way and facilitate the development of marginalized sections of society? These are the questions that the book brings out as it debates the merits and demerits of these different arguments. The book enriches the reader by providing different arguments all put together in one volume.
The purpose of bringing out this book is to look at various points of view regarding the politics of identity, gender and development. The book deals with the concept of politics of identity coming up against what was previously the dominant paradigm, which is the politics of development. The book has the best-known academics in the field of political science all contributing their best to one book, which will be a fountain of different and contending ideas.
