In a career stretching over a few decades, spanning all sectors of our economy in India - the public sector, the multinationals and the private sector - the author has come across numerous instances when some of the senior executives were found to be highly reluctant to accept conclusions/recommendations based on factual evidence, the conclusions that were not in alignment with their dearly held beliefs.
The theme of this book is that many a time even when requisite data is available or can be made available with some effort, some executives are hesitant and reluctant to get the relevant data compiled, sorted, analysed and then to draw some useful conclusions to support their decision-making.
The book aims at supporting executives to improve their hit rate for correct decisions, for effective decisions.
Target Audience:
The book should be of great use to the CEOs , the COOs as well as to all the executives at various levels, who need to make decisions.

About the Author:
V.K. Sharma, starting as a mechanical engineer, had an interesting job rotation early in his career when he was sent by Hindustan Steel Ltd ( now SAIL) for training to the UK in Training Methods and Techniques during the sixties, with Ministry of Labour in London and British Iron and Steel Federation. He enjoyed this change and since worked in the HR filed all along for the last four decades plus in the public sector, the multinational sector and the private sector.
Apart from articles in professional journals, his publications include the books Human Resource Management and India on the Move. His last assignment before retirement which he enjoyed very much, was helping 35,000 citizens of India, primarily female, to move towards literacy in their local languages of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Oriya, Gujarati and Hindi.
