Happiness Personified: Professor I C Goyal Memorial Lectures 2021-2024

In memory of Professor Ishwar Chandra Goyal, we organized five lectures by renowned individuals. The lectures, held during 2021-2024, were on diverse topics; however, we feel that each topic is of tremendous significance to society. Based on what they spoke, each speaker has written a very thought provoking article and this unique book is a collection of the five articles. We feel that the articles would be of great interest and value to many.

About the Articles and the Contributors:

The first article is by Rita Ghatak, an authority on care for aging adults and Founder and ex-Director of the Aging program at Stanford University Medical Center and currently CEO of Aging 101. The article is about looking after aging parents whose children live outside India. Today, this is an extremely important social issue in India and the article should be of immense help to many. 

The second article is by Pravrajika Divyanandaprana, a renowned expert in the areas of Yoga-Vedanta, on Science and Happiness, a topic of tremendous importance to all of us.

The third article is by Padmanabhan Krishna, an exceptional scientist and educationist, on Science and Spirituality. The article discuses in depth scientific and spiritual quests which have been humanity’s two major quests in life. 

The fourth article is by Anurag Sharma, an outstanding researcher at IIT Delhi, and is on the revolution created by the advent of the laser and the optical fiber, because of which we enjoy free overseas telephone calls, free video conferencing, etc. Incidentally, Anurag did his doctoral work (at IIT Delhi) with Professor Ishwar Goyal and Prof Ajoy Ghatak. 

The fifth article is by Alok Goyal who is currently a Partner at Stellaris Venture Partners and one of the Founders of Plaksha University. The article 
discusses critical issues related to making our education relevant in the age of Artificial Intelligence. The article is a must read for all persons associated with education.
